"Education cannot be effective unless it helps a child to open up himself to life." - Maria Montessori

Ateliers

The ateliers located in each classroom, provide the children the opportunity to use the visual arts to express their ideas through symbolic representation. One of the central tenants of the Reggio Emilia approach, is the idea that every child has “one hundred languages” available for expressing their perspectives of the world. Children engage in individual and collaborative projects using a variety of hand-picked materials. These materials act as an invitation for creative possibilities and thoughtful inventions. We see the art studio as a place where children can participate in experiences that are encouraging them to develop in their own way, free form pre-scripted constraints and always respectful of children’s intellect and emotions.
